Is there good in everyone?

Ralph, by nature, is an innocent, mild- tempered boy who accepts leadership when it is thrust on him.  He serves as a democratic leader who tries to keep the boys together on the island and uses a conch shell to mildly show his authority. He thinks of building shelters to protect them and a signal fire for their rescue. He befriends Piggy, the fat boy that receives taunts and teases from the other boys, and learns to rely on Piggy's intellectual reasoning.

Simon is the quiet, shy boy in the group. Being a visionary, he often goes into the forest by himself to contemplate nature and life. He is the only one who helps Ralph build the huts and is also genuinely concerned for the well-being of the "littleuns".

Piggy is the fat boy who is the brunt of all the jokes and teasing in the novel. He is physically weak and constantly complains about his asthma. He is also myopic and almost blind without his glasses.  But, Piggy is also rational and has an understanding about life. He constantly warns the boys about their behavior and foolish ways and becomes Ralph's true friend while serving as a sounding board and advisor to him.

All three seem to be "good" boys; however, is there a difference in their goodness? *40 words minimum.

  1. no, goodness no matter the situation or person, is goodness. there is, however, different ways we, as human beings, use it. some use it to help themselves, others use it as a way to get to a certain goal, or just simply to be able to help other beings. for example, these three boys use their goodness and take advantage of each other's intelligence or abilities in order to be able to get off the island. however, they use it in different ways, whether it's to take care of the "littleuns", have order, or try to get help. they have the sense that the other boys don't, and do everything they can to have a dramaless time as much as possible.

  2. yes, there is a difference is goodness. The situations people are put in will determine whether there good or not. Through out the story Ralph had been both good and bad. He has been a good leader to everyone but when it comes to piggy he treats him badly always making fun of him and messing with him. Now piggy has been good through out the whole book although no one may listen to him he still has good ideas and is not mean to everyone, he is to smart to sink down the other kids level. Simon, also like piggy, helps the "littleuns", he also shows that he will not let jack control him when he gives piggy his meat from the pig. Yes, all the boys have goodness in them, but when it comes to some bad situations not all rise to the occasion.

  3. yes, there is a difference in their goodness. Simon's goodness comes to show when jack wouldnt share his meat with piggy, so he gave him his piece of meat. Simon is also the only one that helped ralph build the huts. Ralph shows his goodness when he proves he is a good leader, but sometimes he likes to be mean to piggy. Piggy on the other hand always has good ideas but no one ever listens to him. although no one listens he always keeps his cool.

  4. I disagree with Gaby. (above) All the boys are good in their own kind of way. Ralph is good because he thinks of what is better for the "littluns" and wants for everyone to be rescued. Piggy is good because he does not tease anyone, instead they tease him and like Ralph, he thinks of the "littluns" wellbeing. Simon on the other hand is good because he does not think of anything bad or horrid, rather he spends his time admiring his enviroment. Simon also thinks of the "littluns" wellbeing as well. Although this is a book, this message also applies to us. Some of us have a diffrent kind of good than others. It doesn't mean we're better, it means everyone has some good in them even if it is diffrent than someone else's goodness.

  6. Sorry i mest up on my first comment. Yes, i agree that all three boys have good inside of them, but it is true all three express it in defferent ways. Ralph shows his good qualities by making huts for the littluns and proving to be a good leader for them. Even though he can be mean to piggy at times he has goodness. Simon is turning out to be one of the nicest boys on the island. He is one of few who helps the littluns get there food. He also gave piggy his meat when jack didnt give piggy any. That shows that he has good qualities and hasnt yet let his animal extincts get to him. Piggy yes has some goodness in him too. He may wine constantly but, he truely does want the best for the boys he is always coming up with some idea yet, always gets ignored. Even though he gets ignored most of the time piggy does want the best for the boys witch shows he has some goodness inside.

  7. Yes, there is good in everyone whether they show it one way or another, and some poeple have goodness but dont show it. Ralph has good in him because he wants everyone to be civilized and more like adults and not like insane savages. Simon has good in him because he helps the little kids get fruit and helped Ralph with the shelters. Piggy has good in him because he everything to be fair and wants to also have a civilized tribe.

  8. Yes, there is good in everyone even if they look or do something bad. Ralph shows that hes good by being a leader and showing hes not afraid of anything. Simon shows hes good by helping the ypunger boys pick fruit from the trees. Piggy comforts the young boy Percival and tries to help him confront his fear of nightmares to show he has good in him.

  9. There is a difference in their goodnes. Ralph wants everyone to be rescued, and he is a good leader. Simon helps the littluns pick fruit from the trees. Piggy helps make the fire with his glasses, and he warns the kids about their behavior.

  10. There is a diffence in their goodness, because not everybodys goodness is the same. Some can use it for good things, and some can use it for bad things:p
Ralph has been a good leader and all, but he hasnt been so nice to piggy.
Piggy has been nice and ood throughout the whole story coming up with good ideas.. but the sad thing is, nobody listens to him.
And I think Simon is the only kind hearted one out of all the rest. Because he is the only one that helps Ralph and the Littluns.

  11. I think there is a little goodness in everyone and there is a difference between each of there goodness. Ralph wants them to build shelter so they are protected. Simon is the only one who cares about the littluns. Piggy warns them about there behavior and becomes Ralph true friend.

  12. yes, everyone is good, but they show it in different aspects. Ralph is being good to them by giving them a shelter. Also he demonstrates it by putting oreder in the island by a conch shell. Simon in the other hand is friendly with others, and helps them by sharing his food. Piggy tries to warn the boys about their behavior and foolish ways .

  13. I think there is goodness in everyone but people show it differently or dont show it att all. Ralph shows it by caring for the littleuns and everyone on the island. He doesnt help piggy though when Jack picks on him. Simon i think is the one that shows his goodness the most. He helps everyone on the island. He is the nice character in the book. Piggy is also good but he shows it by doing nothing bad.

  14. Goodness. I have forever believed that goodness is part of everyone, innocence also. I think it is only a matter of keeping the good inside you. Evil is something taught, I suppose. I know growing up i was a good person and saw that evil took hold of many people. So I think that we are all born with goodness, and evilness is a discovered feeling. Goodness is in everybody just have to learn how to keep it.

  15. There is goodness in all three of the boys, but i do not think it's different. In my opinion, goodness is just something someone has there is no difference. All three of the boys are kind, and they express this throughout the story. Ralph shows his goodness by taking charge, eventhough he's scared. He cares about everyones safety including the littleuns. Simon is the one who you can immediately tell is good. He's the only one who helps build the huts. Then he goes completly out of his way to help the litteuns get fruit. Piggy shows his goodness by just being him really. He shows concern for all the boys even if they do make fun of him. In the end the goodness of all three boys is the same

    ReplyDelete
  16. All in all, goodness is goodness. But like implied in your question there are the many types of goodness in life; many shades of gray in the middle of a 'black and white' world. In Ralph there is the goodness best known as a leader, caring in a way of protection and responsibility. With Simon, well he has more in the caring side, then protecting like Ralph. Piggy is the type of goodness of reasonableness. All together, they make up thread clinging the boys and their humanity together.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, while Ralph good he is not nearly as good as piggy and Simon. He shows that he tries to be good but is shot down by peer pressure. Both Piggy and Simon are not shot down but are hurt in some way in their effort to maintain their goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I do agree that goodness is goodness no matter what. What's different is the way you use it. Ralph uses his goodness for survival. Piggy is innocent so he appears to be a good kid. And, Simon is good natured. No matter how you use it goodness is goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think that there is a difference in their goodness and that there is good in everyone. Each of them uses their good needs for different reasons. Ralph uses his for his leadership, and if he didn't then probably he would just be a cranky chief. Piggy, on the other hand, uses his to keep the littluns in order but he still needs to have some aggresiveness to have order and keep everybody from doing something they are not supposed to be doing. Simon is just naturally good and kind, so with him its sort of a good and bad thing. If he's nice to everybody then he makes all kinds of friends but, then again he can be a push over.

    ReplyDelete
  20. i think all three of the boys , ralph, simon and piggy are naturally good but tend to express this "kindness" in different ways. piggy tries to help out the group even though they constantly taunt him. simon is more expressing of his kindness he tries to help anyone he can, and ralph acts as a father figure for all the younger kids who look up to him , he gives direction and protection to these kids.

    ReplyDelete
  21. There is goodness in all three of the boys. In Ralph I see the goodness come from the leadership he has with the other children and how he finds keeping everyone alive a priority. With Piggy, his goodness seems to be overshadowed but he thinks of good plans to help contribute to the survival of the group. Simon's goodness is expressed by his actions. He helps the littluns even though no one else tries to bother. He also goes out of his way to help others in need.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, all three boys show their goodness in different ways. Ralph shows his goodness by handing Jack leadership of the choir after Ralph won the election for chief. Simon, shows his goodness by the actions he performs to the "liluns". Piggy shows his goodness by his inteligent thinking for the better of the group to survive on the deserted island.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I do think that all of the boys have good inside of them but express it in different ways. Ralph has a type of goodness to be a leader and guide the others. Simon is very kind and shares his meat with piggy when noone else will. Last piggy's goodness is to warn the kids and tell them when they are acting foolish. Therefore yes everyone has a goodness inside them but in different ways.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree with Gaby Villegas when she says "goodness, no matter the situation or person, is goodness." All three boys have always been good and thoughtful since the begging of the novel. The only thing that has sincerely changed between them is the level of goodness they actually show, which also depends greatly on the situation they are facing. For example, Ralph, since the begging of the novel, has always gotten annoyed to a point with Piggy when he just doesn't stop talking, but he still stands up for him and takes for granted his ideas and intelligence for guidance as he is trying to be a good leader for the boys on the island. Piggy, always sweet and innocent, has always cared for the well being of all the boys on the island, but even though, lashes out at them with his annoyance of them acting like little kids. Simon, even though the harsh situation they are in, always tries to make the life of the boys, especially the "littluns," happy and bearable on the island. So it's not so much who has more goodness in them, but how each one of them express their goodness and how much goodness they seem to show to the others around them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. No, there is no a difference in their goodness, goodness is the same no matter how you portray it. In the novel the boys have been at different levels of goodness some being nicer then others. I think it begins to show more now that Jack is pretty much testing them by trying to dictate them. Each of their types of goodness benefits them in different situations. Ralph has a kind of goodness that guides the others and sets them in their places. Simon has just an all around good heart he helps everyone, he also knows how to tell someone right from wrong. Piggy's goodness comes out by how even though the group thinks of him as ignorant and doesn't listen to him, in other words taunts him, he still tries to help them and is more concerned about everyones well-being. The only difference in the three boys goodness is the amount each of them show.

  26. I think that there is goodness in all three of the boys, they just show it in diffrent ways.Ralph shows it by being a leader and showing that he cares about them. Piggy shows it when he thinks of ideas to help them survive, and Simon shows his goodness when he helps build huts for them to sleep in at night.

    ReplyDelete
  27. There is a difference in the goodness of all three of them. Ralph for example is not as nice as simon- who is the nicest of the three- but still does good things for the group, and piggy may complain and nag all the time but he still tries to offer solutions to help the kids.

  29. I messed up. :b Sally just goes against people XD. Oh well anyway, I think that these boys are all good because of the things they have decided. I firmly believe that there are both good and bad inside everyone and goodness is something you choose. I don't think that righteousness is something that can vary, it all comes down to the situation that you're put in. They may all seem to have different qualaties, but their goodness comes from what they have faced and the choices they have made, and since they've all gone through different things, its just an illusion of specific forms of nobility.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, I think their is a difference in their goodness. Each boys has goodness and they all show it in different ways. I think Ralph shows his goodness by his leadership. Piggy shows his good side by throwing out his ideas to the other boys, even though they don't listen. Simon is just naturally good and kind, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  31. yes, i do think there is a difference in the goodness that each boy has. They all show it in different ways. Ralph shows it by the way he leads the other kids. As for simon, he shows it by helping anyone that needs it. Piggy shows his goodness with his ideas but no one really listens.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes, I think that their goodness is different for each of the boys. Everyone has a different way of being nice to eachothere or to other things. Ralph and Piggy are both nice to eachother as well to others. They try to help everyone in their own way by having ideas and making comments. On the other hand, Simon, he also cares for everyone especially the littleuns. But, Simon also cares about nature more then the others. Everyone has different ways of being nice and they show it in many different ways. No one is the same, everyone is different in their own ways.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree all three boys are "good"; however, they also seem to express their goodness in different ways. For example, Ralph, the leader of the boys, shows his goodness by building shelters for them and always wanting the fire to stay lit so they can be rescued. Simon also helps Ralph build the shelters. He's the type of person that shares anything he has and worries about others more than himself. Piggy expresses his goodness by lending out any ideas he thinks of that might help life on the island become easier. Even if he knows the boys will turn them down he still gives it a shot.

    ReplyDelete
  34. There is goodness in all three of these boys, but it is shown in diffrent ways. Ralph tries to do the best he can to be a leader to these boys. Piggy has a good heart. He tells them what is right and what is wrong, but he becomes the victim because of what he looks like. Simon is the all around good guy. He is kind, caring, and helpful. They each have some good in them, but they just show it in their own way.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I honestly don't believe there is a difference in goodness. You either have it in you, or you don't. Yes, it may be portrayed in difference ways, but it's all still the same. Out of the three, however, the one that seems to show goodness the most is Simon. He is the one that is kind the the "litluns", as they call them, and he seems to love peace and serenity, as shown in his little spot of nature. At first, Ralph seemed to not be so nice, but through the story, he starts to show his kindness by buliding huts and thinking of the others well-being. Piggy, on the other hand, can be kind, but he is thinking more about getting off the island. They all have goodness in them, just in different degress, not different ways.

    ReplyDelete
  36. yes, I believe there is a differance in goodness. Through out the story Ralph is a good leader but he also shows his bad side. When things dont go Ralphs way, he explodes with anger. As for simon and piggy, I havent seen the bad side og either one of them, only good. Simon shows his goodness by carring for the littleuns and helping Ralph bulid the shelters. Piggy show his goodness when he comes up with ideas that may help them survive. Piggy cares about the other kids. There is good and bad in everyone but some people may show it more then others.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I believe there is a difference in fact. Just on how theres a difference between how bad u can be, theirs many ways on how u can be...a good person. And all three boys are a perfect example of this. They each contribute what they can, wether it be their knowledge, leadership skills, or helping others. They all do what is neccesary for the groups survival. Moreover these boys contribute their own unique way of being good to others.

    ReplyDelete
  38. There is good in all three of them. Simon helps the littleuns get food from the tall trees when everyone else just ignores them... Ralph builds shelters to prevent the littleuns from getting scared. Piggy has great ideas and can be a leader because of the goodness inside of him.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes, i believe there is goodness in everyone. But each person shows there goodness in different ways. These three characters are perfect examples of this. Ralph shows his goodness by showing his concern for the littleuns. Simon is kind, and seems to want to help anyway they can. Piggy is intelligent, and wants to help Ralph with his leadership skills.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It resonates in all of them. Simon helps the littluns get their food, Ralph expresses the necesities of the island and does something to help out or do the full job, Piggy helps with his wide variety of reasoning and to help Ralph flower into a leader worthy of leading the kids. Yes, they have lapses in goodness but it shows most of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  41. based on previous experiences, i don't think there is a difference in goodness. i think it's the same no matter how it's shown. Simon shows his goodness by helping the littluns pick fruit, Ralph shows his goodness by being a strong leader, and Piggy shows his goodness by thinking of ways to get them off the island. so in conclusion, there is a little bit of good in everyone, some just show it differently than others.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think there is good in everyone but there is a difference in Ralph, Piggy, and Simon's good. Ralph is good at keeping order within everyone. Piggy is good at helping with survival because of his education. Then Simon is good with the littleluns. So there really is good in everyone, its just shown in different ways.

    ReplyDelete
  43. There is good in everyone, but there is a difference in the way Ralph, Piggy, and Simon use their goodness. Ralph uses his goodness by being a leader. Piggy uses his goodness just by being himself. Simon uses the goodness in him by helping the littleuns. The boys do have goodness in them, they just use it differently.

    ReplyDelete
  44. yes i think there is all kinds of goodness. but i dont think someone has to be put to a test to see whether the person is a good person. There is good in alll three of them. Ralph is a leader and uses his goodness there. Piggy uses his goodness by being the smart one of the group and Simon is just a good person.

    ReplyDelete
  45. yes, I do think all three of them are good people, but they all show it a different way. Ralph shows his goodness by building shelters for everyone. Simon helps anybody who needs help. Piggy gives good ideas to help their chance of surviving.

    ReplyDelete
  46. yes i think there is goodness in all of the boys, but they all have different ways of expressing it. ralph, for example, is good by keeping the fire going and building shelters. piggy is good by giving ideas. and simon is good by helping everyone and being kind to everybody.

    ReplyDelete
  47. All three boys have goodness, but they all have a different way in showing it. Ralph has goodness, but most of the time his anger takes control and he shows anger more than anything else. Piggy, in my opinion, is the smartest and nicest, but hhe is always being ignored. Ralph is the one that helps himself and everybody els, he is concerned for everybody . I think that the major difference is the patience and control over the person's other feelings. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I believe that there is a huge difference in goodness, because it depends on how you may use it. You can use your goodness to help or possibly hurt others. For instance, Ralph uses his goodness to try to help others get rescued, by keeping the fire going. Simon uses his goodness to help the "littluns," by getting them fruit off of the high places and helping them confront their fears. While Piggy uses his goodness for the safety of the tribe and to help them stay as close to civilization and as far from become savage as possible. Piggy is the person who doesn't like doing anything dangerous, he will try to warn the tribe to keep away from something if they possibly could become injured.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The three of them are good kids, but their way of showing it differs. Ralph may be a bit immature at times, but for the most part he is good. He cares for the wellbeing of the “littluns” and wants to be rescued. Simon is in my opinion the nicest of the three. He helps the “liittluns” get fruit and never makes fun of any body. Piggy is also good he tries to help Ralph and has great ideas but most of the boys just ignore him.

    ReplyDelete
  50. There is a difference in their goodness, Ralph is good when you are talking about leadership. His leadership skills are impeccable, he tells people what to do without sounding bossy at all.Simon is an all around good person, he helps the littleuns, he helps Ralph, and he doesn't make fun of Piggy when everyone else does. Piggy is good when it comes to coming up with good ideas. His ideas are usually for the good of the tribe yet everyone brings him down and basically throw his ideas out the window. He is also good at trying to steer the tribe away from danger and harm. Their differences is the glue that holds together the tribe in a way.

    ReplyDelete
  51. All three boys are good but their is a difference in their goodness. Simon is good when it comes to helping the the other kids and Ralph and Piggy are not as concerned with the other kids as much. Ralph though is good when it comes to leadership and making decisions that affect the whole group. Piggy is the most different probably when it comes to goodness, he only cares mainly about what they should do to be saved and not worried that much about how they should survive on the island.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yes, all three of the boys have goodness in them and they all show it in a different way. Ralph shows his goodness by trying to be the best leader he can. Simon shows his goodness by minding his own business and helping out in everything he can. Piggy shows his goodness by giving good ideas and staying calm when the other boys pick on him because of his ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  53. All three boys have goodness in them; however their goodness has a difference. Ralph is good by being a leader and showing authority. Simon's goodness is shown to the littluns by helping them pick fruit from high areas and also to Ralph, who he helps build huts with. On the other hand, Piggy shows his goodness to everyone by helping them build a fire with his glasses and to Ralph, who he gives advice to.

    ReplyDelete
  54. In ways there are differences of their goodness because they are three different poeple. ralphs goodness is also leadership goodness because he does goodness for the sake of the tribe and rarely for him self. Simon is always helping and being kind to everyone but at times he can forget about the tribe and wonder off all to himself. Piggy's goodness is lending his glasses other than that he cares about civilization and is annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yes,they do, but there is a difference in their goodness. I think that they all show it in their own way. Ralph is good by showing leadership, Simon is good because he actualy cares for others. He shows that he cares for the little boys and is the only one who helps Ralph. Piggy is good because he show concern by constantly warning the other boys.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I believe that all their goodness is different because they all use it differently. Ralph uses it in the matter of helping all of them get rescued, by obligating them to keep the fire going. Simon uses it to help the “littleuns”, by helping them pick the fruit. Piggy uses it by coming up with a lot of good ideas, too bad they don’t listen.

    ReplyDelete
  57. There is a difference of good in all of them. Ralph thinks of everbody else before he thinks about himself, which makes him a good leader. Piggy is good because his main priority is too survive and get everybody rescued. Finally Simon is good becauae he helps and agrees with everybody. He doesn't cause problem. So all their goodness is different.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes there is a difference in the goodness of all three of them. Ralph has goodness in mind for the whole group and keeps his mind set on being rescued. Simon is the nicest of the three, and his goodness is directed toward the whole group but mostly toward the littleuns. Piggy is good in trying to help Ralph a lot of the time. He offers solutions and reasonable thinking. Their goodness is directed in different priorities.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think there is a difference. The difference being why they are good. Ralph is a good boy because he is trying to get them of the island. Simon has the same concept as ralph, yet he seems to be good whether they'd be stuck on an island or not. So far he proves to be the most amiable of the group. And piggy seems to be good just because everyone views him as the nerd of the group and when have you ever seen a nerd that doesn't have some kind of goodness in them? So my final opinion is that there is a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yes, there is a difference in the goodness that the three boys have. Ralph shows he can be a strong leader, because he's trying to get them off the island, though as you can see in the beginning he wasn’t so good. He changes while being on the island, so in reality how good is he off the island. Simon shows goodness, because it seems as though he would be good if they were on the island or not. Piggy is the nerd of the group, so he is nice because nerd’s don’t show violent behavior and try to get through things without violence. So in all opinions, I think there is a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  61. yes, there is a difference in the goodness. Ralph seems to be a leader but does not stand up for someone when they are wrongly debuted. Simon is really good and seems to be caring for everyone on the island and really helps keep everyone at peace. Piggy is really good but no one respects him even though he is the smartest and is very kind. He gets abused, and his helpfulness is wasted, but he never shows violence. There's a big difference between all.

    ReplyDelete
  62. There is a difference in their goodness, but they all have it in them. Ralph uses his goodness by leading the group and trying to keep everything in order. Simon used his goodness when he helped Ralph build the huts and gave Piggy his meat because he felt bad. Piggy is just overall good, even though nobody acknowledges it. So, I do think everyone has good in them, it's just used in different ways.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ralph, Piggy, and Simon are three different boys. But they all have good in them, they all are good kids and look to the wellbeing of the group. Still they are differnces in how good they are. Simon is helpful and caring, while Ralph is the leader and has to look after everyone and try to keep them in order. Piggy gives advice to Ralph to help him to be a better leader.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Each individual boy has his own individual traits so that would have to mean that their has to be a difference in their niceness. Simon's goodness is a nurturing one. He is generally what i think of when i think of nice. Piggy's niceness comes of as being a smart alec and gets annoying.Ralph's niceness is opportunistic he truly wants to be nice but abandons it in the end. Clearly their is a difference in their niceness.

    ReplyDelete
  65. All three of them are good, but they are good in different ways . As you know Ralph is the leader of the group and i think he cares about everyone , because he's the leader. Piggy is somebody that not everybody likes because he's paranoid due to the fact that there stuck on the island,, but the also helps Ralph. Simon is what i think the nicest of all of them even though he's quiet you can tell he's good.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I have no doubt in my mind that there is good in everyone. I also believe there are different types of goodness. Examples of the difference of goodness would be when Simon helped the "littleuns" pick fruit off the tree, when Piggy gives people advise even though he knows he will be ignored, and how Ralph puts the group's safety before him.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think that they are different goods in each one of theose boys. Ralph is teh natural leader. He dispalys care for the others and thier rescue, but he also cares about what others think of him. Piggy is intelligent, and cares for the littluns, but is constatnly dowsized. Simon cares for anyone, and is very good natured, but is, liek Ralph, not wanting to be downsized by the others, noticably Jack.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yes, there is good in everyone but, it is the choices they make that make them truly good. For example, when Simon helped the littleuns pick the fruit off the tree, that just shows that Simon is a truly good person and cares about everyone's well-being. Also Piggy, he gives everyone ideas about how it would be easier if they used his ideas for once, that shows that he wants everyone to be safe and survive in the end. Ralph, is the leader and cares about the order of the all the boys. So overall all the 3 boys are good people but, in different ways

  69. Yes there is a very noticable difference in the boys "goodness". Everyone is born with goodness in their heart but each person, however, decides how to do that good in different ways. Ralph seems to obviously be the type of boy whom, in this case, wants to do all the right things to get off the island, and keep everyone together and safe. so i believe Ralph to be more of the good guy but sometimes tempted to give up. Simon, is genuoly a good person at heart, he wants to help everyone as much as he can. of course he wants to go home but i think thats not truly the most important thing to him. the most important thing to him ,i think, is that he wants to know in his heart, that he IS a good person not that he TRIES to be.in my opinion Simon is the strongest of the group, mentaly therefore, being the most good. Piggy on the other hand is the weakest of the whole group with the exceptions of the littleuns of course. he hardley stands up for himself, but knowing that everyone teases him, he wouldn't ever want to be like the horrible people whom he is tormented by, so possibly thats the main reason why he is so good. so yes all three boys types' of goodness are different. they each do them for a specific reason, but are very good all the same.
